The Standards You Hate Are the Standards You Don't Meet

Every man says women want too much ...

Until you ask him what he brings to the table.

Suddenly the conversation changes.

She's too picky.

She's too materialistic.

She's unrealistic.

But what if her standards aren't the problem ?

What if they're simply exposing the gap between who you are...

... and who you believe you are ?

It's easy to call someone "high maintenance" when they require something you've never learned to give.

Consistency

Communication

Financial stability

Emotional maturity

Integrity

None of those are luxury items.

They're foundations.

Some men don't hate high standards.

They hate being measured by them.

Because standards force us to confront a question our ego would rather avoid:

"Am I actually prepared for the life I'm asking for?"

That's a much harder conversation than blaming women.

Question of the Day

If someone dated you exactly the way you date others , would you feel valued or tolerated ?
