Reading changes awareness.

Action changes lives.

This week we’ve talked about the ways poverty can shape our thinking, our relationships, and our decisions.

Now it’s time to look inward.

Not with shame.

With honesty.

Grab a notebook, open the notes app on your phone, or print this page.

Answer every question honestly.

The only person you’re lying to if you avoid the truth is yourself.

Part One: Your Money

  • Do I know exactly how much money I earn each month?

  • Do I know exactly how much I spend each month?

  • If my car broke down tomorrow, could I pay for it without borrowing money?

  • Do I have any savings? If so, how much?

  • Am I living according to a plan or reacting to emergencies?

Part Two: Your Mindset

Finish these sentences without overthinking.

Money is…

Rich people are…

People like me…

I could never…

I’ll start saving when…

Those answers will tell you more about your financial beliefs than your bank account ever could.

Part Three: Your Relationships

Have you ever stayed in a relationship because leaving would’ve made life harder financially?

Have you ever loaned money you couldn’t afford to lose because you felt guilty saying no?

Have you ever ignored red flags because someone was helping you financially?

Have you ever expected someone else to rescue you instead of creating a plan?

Part Four: What Changes Today?

Write down one financial habit you’re ready to stop normalizing.

Then write one new habit you’ll replace it with.

Keep it realistic.

Not perfect.

Realistic.

Maybe it’s checking your account every morning.

Maybe it’s packing lunch three days a week.

Maybe it’s finally opening a savings account.

Maybe it’s saying “I can’t afford that” instead of putting it on a credit card.

Small decisions become lifelong habits.

And lifelong habits become generational change.

Question of the Day

Which answer surprised you the most, and what does it reveal about the way you’ve been thinking about money?
